Do You Do Your Best to Be CORRECT?

Starting January 21st our character education 2013 campaign was launched! 

The "Talk It, Walk It, Pass It On" Campaign is this year's reminder to all students and staff about the importance of doing our best to live a CORRECT life.  Students are being instructed through announcements, physical and mental character workouts, and cross-grade level buddy activities that aspiring to be COURAGEOUS, OPTIMISTIC, RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBILE, EMPATHETIC, a good CITIZEN, and TRUSTWORTHY, will not only make a differenece in their lives, but in those at home, in their communities and in the world. 

Incorporated with visits from Kid Courageous and Cousin Correct, we are singing our OCS together every Friday to show our support for CORRECT. 

The enthusiasm from all provides even more evidence that the OCS way to do things....  is the CORRECT way.

Weeks January 21 and January 28 we will be learning about the importance of COURAGE in our lives....

Winston Churchill once said, "Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen."

Welcome 2013!!!!

   The beginning of a new year is a perfect time to reflect on the past, moving into the future with refreshed enthusiasm and commitment to the school year.  It is a time to focus on what went well and what improvements need to be made to make the 2012-13 school year be more successful than ever.

  Starting mid-January we will begin our CORRECT campaign designed to bring focus to being CORRECT in all that we do.  Students and staff will refocus on living and learning the CORRECT way by discovering exactly what CORRECT means to them and what they believe it should look like.  We will kick-off with an exciting activity entitled "Talk It, Walk It, Pass It On". 

• Mondays- "Talk It" will begin with morning announcements which will share thoughts and dictionary definitions regarding each of our CORRECT traits.
• Wednesdays- "Walk It" students and staff will work-out those character muscles aiming on building strong values in all that we do.
• Fridays- "Pass It On" a time to share with a buddy what having good character means to you.  This is a time to be that role model, a champion of character and connect with a student in a different grade/class.  We will share what the traits mean to us and sing our school Correct song together. 

  By the time our campaign is completed, we will all understand the importance of being CORRECT here at school, at home, and in our world.  Can't wait to get started!  Time to dust off your work-out clothes and focus on being CORRECT.
