Happy Spring!
All the signs are there.... the sun is shining, daylight savings is back in effect, spring break is here, and yes~~ O.C.S.'s 7th and 8th grade classes held another successful Pasta Dinner!!!! Students, staff, and parents served over 480 dinners! We certainly had a spectacular evening! One of my 7th grade students even remarked that he had such a great time, he was disappointed he would have to wait another whole year to do it again.
Thank you to all who helped us put this special event together! It truly takes a "village" to put this on. This year's support from local businesses was extraordinary! A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Garland who helped arrange and collect many of those donations.
Please support the local businesses that helped our dinner succeed (a complete list will be posted on my next blog)!
Happy Spring Break!
Coming up... Our CORRECT campaign continues. Next week we will be learning more about the second "C" in CORRECT- CITIZENSHIP! Stay tuned....

March is for Empathy and Pasta Dinners Too!
The "Talk It, Walk It, Pass It On" Campaign Continues.....
Moving on to March.... We have stretches for Empathy led by RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY CORRECT!
Our discovery of what EMPATHY means and why it is important to us began with a personal touch. Our EMPATHY Monday announcement showed a snapshot of what is going on in the lives of two of our teachers, Mrs. Lurz and Mrs. Kantz.
The teachers "on the air" conversation reflected the importance of our caring for each other and sharing each others' feelings- both good and bad. Mrs. Lurz expressed good luck and praise for the accomplishments and upcoming events as Mrs.Kantz's son swims his way through States at Bucknell this weekend. Currently ranked second, the future looks bright for Zach Kantz (move over Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps)! Mrs. Kantz returned sentiments of concern about Mrs. Lurz's son who is now at Army basic training in Fort Benning, Georgia. Expressing concern and caring about being separated from family. It's important for us to "put ourselves in someone else's shoes"! Another way to say is "your pain (or joy) in my heart."
We will continue with EMPATHY activities through mid-March. Ask me about "E"?
Pasta Dinner Updates
We had our 2nd meeting this week. More details have been ironed out. Thanks to the help of many- supplies and donations are coming in. We are still in need of Alfredo sauce, soda/beverages in 12 packs, and salad dressing. We have all the Penne' and red sauce we need. Our door prizes, mini-raffles are complete as well! THANK YOU PARENTS.
TICKETS, TICKETS, TICKETS, we need to sell more TICKETS! Less than two weeks to go!!!:)
